The American Football Coaches Association was founded in 1922 for the purpose of improving the coaching profession and the sport of football. Since their first meeting of 43 coaches in New York in 1921 AFCA has grown to more than 10,000 members including coaches from every D-1 College and NFL team.

In 2000 the AFCA Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse ELITE Combines. At the time, AFCA Executive Director, Grant Teaff wrote the following:

"I am pleased to announce that the American Football Coaches Association Board of Directors has voted unanimously to Exclusively Sanction and Endorse ELITE Football Combines.

Our vote was a product of an extensive evaluation of the program which revealed ELITE Combines to be a professionally unassailable pro tryout opportunity for our student-athletes. The program not only produces unfailingly accurate test results for pro scouts, it is genuinely caring about the players.

Now with AFCA's endorsement, along with ELITE Combines existing associations with the NFL, CFL and Arena League, all players will have a safe and professional tryout system to hopefully further their football careers."

The AFCA endorsement entrusts ELITE with the responsibility of providing a dependable and trustworthy evaluation system for both teams and players. The AFCA endorsement confirms for the players they are participating in an effective and legitimate pro tryout system.

Former AFCA Director of Education and Special Projects, Walter Abercrombie added:

"For the past twenty years, ELITE Combines has been dedicated to providing a safe and professional tryout experience for football players all over the country. Their passion, dedication and, most important, EXPERIENCE made ELITE Football worthy of the AFCA endorsement."
